Today is Day 9 Post-Op for my Total Knee Replacement Surgery. I am getting better with each passing day. This is Day 7 of treatments on the CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) machine. This machine increases the range of motion in my knee to prevent it from becoming stiff and locking up after surgery. When I started the treatments the range was set at 60 degrees, today it is set at 95 degrees. The range is increased by 5 degrees each day. The goal is 120 degrees, so I still have some work to do, but it is necessary if I want to regain the strength and flexibility in my knee. Each day I spend 4 hours on the CPM machine (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night). The good thing is the machine keeps on working my knee, even if I fall a sleep. 😴n addition to the CPM machine treatments, I have exercises to do 2-3 times a day, provided to me by my inhome physical therapist. In between treatments and exercises I ice the knee down to help reduce the swelling.
My wife, Sylvia, has been my coach and comforter during this process. SHE HAS BEEN TRULY AMAZING!! THANK YOU Sweetheart !!

It’s been 6 days since my ACL surgery. Today I made myself try and walk and when I tell you this has been one of the most physical and mental challenges ever, I mean it.

6 hours in a cpm machine, 6 to 12 hours of ice. Plus physical therapy exercises. It’s pretty much a full time thing. Slowly getting stronger everyday!!

Honestly didn’t know what to expect, but this machine really helped me after my total knee replacement. My doctor said to use one and I’m glad I did. It was a bit tricky to set up at first but once I got the hang of it, it worked great. Used it 2-3 times a day and could really feel the improvement.
